Getting to know the person behind Smart Growth and Strong Neighborhoods.
I’m proud to call Santa Clara home. My husband and I raised our family here, and I’ve spent my career working to support children, strengthen our schools, and build a stronger community.
Together, we can plan for smart growth AND build neighborhoods that thrive.
- Proud Santa Clara resident of more than 18 years.
- Bought a home and raised a family in Santa Clara, with three cats and a thriving garden.
- Appointed to serve as the District 2 representative on the City Hall Community Advisory Committee.
- 15 years in higher education as a University Administrator and Program Manager, working with both U.S. and international students and organizations.
- Board member with the Santa Clara Schools Foundation for 3 years, currently serving as President in my second 3-year board term.
- Serving a 2-year term on the California State PTA Board of Managers on the Education Commission and Legislative Action Committee, and assigned to the Student Involvement and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committees for the 2025–2027 board term.
- More than 7 years volunteering with the PTA in our local SCUSD schools and at the district level, representing SCUSD PTAs to neighboring PTA councils and districts.
- A career spent supporting children, advocating for families and teachers, and strengthening our schools through the School Site Council, District Advisory Board, and Strategic Planning Committee.
- Enthusiastic member of the League of Women Voters, Santa Clara/San Jose chapter, and the Santa Clara Women’s League.
- Member of Democrats for Public Education, DAWN (Democratic Activists for Women Now), and the Democratic 21st Century Club.
Why I’m running
I’m running for Santa Clara City Council because I believe this is a pivotal moment for our city. Santa Clara has given my family so much, and I’ve always believed in finding ways to give back.
My work has always been guided by a simple belief: education has the power to transform lives and strengthen communities. But City Council is about more than education. The challenges facing Santa Clara today, from housing and transportation to infrastructure and public safety, are all connected, and solving them takes leaders who are willing to listen, bring people together, and set aside personal agendas.
My vision is simple: Smart Growth. Strong Neighborhoods.
I believe we can build more housing while preserving what makes our neighborhoods special, support local businesses, invest in parks and infrastructure, keep our community safe, and give every resident a real voice in our future.
I don’t claim to have all the answers. What I bring is a commitment to public service, a willingness to listen, and a belief that leadership is about earning trust and building consensus. I’m running because I believe Santa Clara’s best days are still ahead.
Who I am
I enjoy challenging myself, and I believe the best leaders never stop learning.
Over the past several months, I’ve made it a priority to meet with people from every corner of our community: labor leaders, business owners, homeowners and renters, students, parents, teachers, first responders, seniors, and many others who care about Santa Clara’s future. Those conversations inspired me to ask better questions, dig deeper, and seek out the facts.
Santa Clara is at a crossroads. We have extraordinary strengths, a world-class economy, vibrant neighborhoods, and engaged residents, alongside hard questions about growth, housing, transportation, and city services.
That’s the kind of council member I hope to be: someone who listens first, asks tough questions, and works collaboratively to leave Santa Clara stronger for the next generation.
